As soon as I put the first one on, I could tell that I'd made the right choice. Old, flakey, nasty, thin original equipment at left. New, velour, comfy, form-fitting, light & airy Wicked Cushions cushions on the right. My 7506's have never felt better. Thanks!
Bought my first WC pads for my V6...now got a second pair for my 7506! Sound is so much better than the OEM Sony ones and much more comfy. Thanx again!
Love these earpads for my Sony MDR V6! I've compared them with different ones - Auray velours, OEM Sony pads - and these are very comfortable. They do change the sound a bit - it makes my V6 less boomy which is known to be for compared to the 7506 (which I also own). Like it less boomy when I'm audio recording and editing. Thanx!
I previously ordered a pair of the standard cushions for my cans, but the difference in the wearability of these velour cushions is day and night. Sooo much more comfortable.
I removed the OEM ear pads when I received the velour pads. That way I could get the use of the pads for the 180 day warranty. At first to attach the new pads it was a little frustrating for the first pad. The second pad was a little quicker.
I am a former drummer that played rock and country from the late '60s for 40 years. I was never big on loud bass playing. You "heard" bass, not "felt" bass. The MDR-7506 headphones were bought as I remember the V600 I purchased back in the '80s. The headphones, with the velour pads, were used on a V30 phone with the Poweramp app and the HiFi Quad DAC that was built into the phone. WOW! The new pads did add a bit fuller bass. I listened to the mp3s in my phone for almost 2 hours. They were quite comfortable. When I removed the h/phones I placed them in such a manner as the "cans" were open to the air. I do try to wipe my ears to keep the excess oil from building up. This time I will not wear these outside while working. And, yes, I will buy another pair from Wicked Cushions. PLEASE keep your volume down to save your hearing! I wish I had. Once in awhile you should brush them to clean out hair and skin particles.
Bought my first WC velour pads for my Sony V6 (made in japan, a rarity)... now I got another pair for my 7506 (also made in Japan, another rarity). Of course u can hear the difference between the V6 and 7506, but also between the ones that were first manufactured in Japan (1980s-1990s) before they moved to Thailand (present day...also have another newer pair 7506). Definitely think the WC pads is an improvement in sound quality, if not the same from the OEM ones. Thanx again!!
I replaced all the cushions on my Sony headphones in the studio with these velour cushions. No more black flakes getting stuck to my clients faces from the original black pads.
